Shop-made PVC vacuum attachment for a dust collector

I could just go out and buy a shop vacuum. But I already have a dust collector (and boxes full of scrap PVC tubing). So I made a vacuum attachment to clean up dust in the shop.

vacuum sections
The various sections of the vacuum system, assembled from 2" PVC pipe and fittings. I epoxied a handle onto one section (lower, right). The crevice attachment (top, right) was easy to fabricate. I just heated part of the PVC with a heat gun until it softened. I then squeezed it in a woodworking vise.
locking fitting
To make a locking collar I used a Dremel tool to cut a lock groove into the slip-on fitting, and epoxied a rolled pin into the side of the pipe.
floor sweep
I made a floor sweep head from 2" PVC, a t-connector and two end caps. Before assembly, I used a band saw to cut a 1/4" wide slot into the bottom components. As with the other pieces, there is a locking collar for interchangeability.
floor sweep connected
Floor sweep connected to the 4" dust collector hose.
